Who we are
Summit Basketball was founded by three dads wanting to give their kids and the entire South Delta community the best possible basketball experience. With our extensive playing, coaching and business track record, we created Summit to be the best platform for local kids to build their skills, compete and have fun with their friends. Our vision is to grow Summit like a family, help each player reach their highest potential and build a stronger, more connected local basketball culture. Â

Jeff Mesina
CO-FOUNDER

Jeff's passion for basketball began at just five years old, when he first picked up a basketball and instantly fell in love with the game. That early passion grew into a decorated High School playing career highlighted by numerous individual and team accomplishments across Vancouver’s competitive basketball scene.
Â
During his 1996–1997 Junior season, as team captain, he helped lead the David Thompson Trojans to a 3rd Place finish at the Vancouver City Championships.
Â
His standout 1997–1998 season was highlighted during the Churchill Bulldogs Tournament where he lead his team to the Championship and was named Tournament MVP.
Â
That same season, he was also selected to the 1997–1998 Vancouver All-Star Team. He continued his success during his Senior year in 1998–1999 by earning 1st Team All-Star honours at the Gladstone Gladiators Tournament and was once again named to the Vancouver All-Star Team.
Â
Today, Jeff brings that same passion, dedication, and love for the game to the sidelines at Summit Basketball. Known for his leadership, mentorship, and commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the court, he was recognized by South Delta Basketball as the 2024–2025 Coach of the Year.
Deep Dhillon
CO-FOUNDER

Deep is a lifelong resident of Delta with deep roots in the Ladner community, where he was born and raised before later living in Tsawwassen. Growing up in Delta, Deep developed a strong passion for basketball during the iconic 1990s era of the game, inspired by the competitiveness, discipline, and leadership the sport represented.Â
Â
Basketball became much more than a game — it became a foundation for personal growth, leadership, and success in many aspects of life, including business and real estate. Through his experiences in sports, Deep learned the importance of hard work, accountability, teamwork, and resilience, values he now hopes to pass on to the next generation.
Â
Having experienced success playing high school basketball at DSS, Deep understands firsthand the positive impact sports can have on youth development, confidence, and community connection. He strongly believes organized sports provide young athletes with opportunities to build character, leadership skills, discipline, and lifelong relationships both on and off the court.
Â
Deep is excited to partner with Jeff and Marc to provide Delta youth with access to the elite-level basketball training, mentorship, and coaching opportunities that have often required athletes to leave their own community to experience. With strong ties to Ladner and a genuine passion for giving back, Deep is committed to helping local athletes develop their skills, reach their full potential, and grow into confident leaders who can make a positive impact within their communities.
